SEN Teacher

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to start immediately. This SEN Teacher position will involve working with children and young people who have a range of complex needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), physical disabilities, and complex communication needs.

The successful SEN Teacher will play a vital role in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every pupil is supported to achieve their individual goals. Many pupils require highly personalised learning approaches, specialist communication strategies, sensory learning opportunities, and support to develop independence and life skills.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to pupils with complex learning needs.
• Develop and implement personalised learning programmes and EHCP targets.
• Support pupils with autism, SLD, PMLD, physical disabilities, and communication difficulties.
• Use a range of communication methods, including visual supports and assistive communication strategies.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, healthcare professionals, and families.
• Promote independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
• Create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that enables every pupil to thrive.

What You’ll Need

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience working with pupils with SEND, particularly autism, SLD, PMLD, or complex needs.
• Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and personalised learning.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach.
