The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Use positive behaviour support strategies and trauma-informed approaches to help pupils engage successfully in learning.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet a range of learning styles and sensory needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, therapists, external agencies, and families.
  • Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, independence, and positive social interactions.
  • Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages pupils to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

This SEN Teacher role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs and is committed to supporting every pupil to achieve their individual goals.

What You’ll Need

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND, particularly autism, SEMH needs, communication difficulties, or moderate learning difficulties.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated teaching, behaviour support strategies, and personalised learning approaches.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and positive behaviour management.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
  • A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach.
  • A commitment to ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive and succeed as an SEN Teacher.

Why Apply?

  • Immediate start available.
  • Opportunity to positively impact the lives of children and young people who require specialist educational support.
  • Supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary staff team.
  • Access to excellent training and professional development opportunities.
  • A rewarding SEN Teacher position within a specialist educational environment committed to inclusion and pupil success.
  • The chance to help pupils develop confidence, independence, emotional resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.
