About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Supply SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in the Rugeley area from September 2026. This is an excellent full‑time opportunity for someone passionate about helping children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) reach their full potential.

In this role, you will provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with a range of learning, developmental, and behavioural needs. You’ll work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to create a positive, nurturing, and structured environment where every child can succeed.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning delays.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities.
  • Support pupils in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and confidence.
  • Create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all learners.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals.

About You

  • Experienced working with children with SEN in a school or care setting.
  • Patient, empathetic, and able to build strong, positive relationships.
  • Able to adapt your approach to meet the needs of individual learners.
  • Confident in supporting behaviour, communication, and emotional needs.
  • Reliable, flexible, and committed to full‑time working hours.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one).
