SEND Classroom Support Assistant

Job Description

A specialist SEND school in Coventry is looking for a full‑time SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience supporting children with additional needs and a passion for helping pupils feel safe, understood and ready to learn.

You’ll be working within classroom settings, supporting children with a range of SEND needs including communication difficulties, learning delays, sensory needs and social‑emotional challenges. The school offers a warm, structured and highly supportive environment where staff work closely together to provide consistent, personalised support.

 

Candidate Requirements

  • SEND experience is essential, ideally within a specialist or inclusive setting
  • Confident supporting children with a range of complex needs
  • Ability to follow support plans and adapt activities where needed
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A patient, calm and resilient approach
  • Understanding of safeguarding and supporting vulnerable pupils

Role Responsibilities
