Do you thrive in an inclusive environment? Zest is currently recruiting for a full-time SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) on a long-term basis on behalf of a school based in South Leicester. The role will be starting as soon as possible for the right candidate.

This school caters for students between the ages of 4yo-19yo with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH), ADHD and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will have experience working with individuals of a similar nature and demonstrate patience and empathy towards the students.

 

Responsibilities of the SEND Learning Support Assistant role include:

  • Building rapport with students, promoting, and encouraging their independence
  • De-escalating any situations that may occur
  • Keeping the students engaged with the lesson plans provided by the class teacher
  • Relaying student feedback and progress to the class teacher

 

Requirements of the SEND Learning Support Assistant role include:

  • A genuine passion for working with students with special educational needs
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Sound knowledge of the current safeguarding processes and the confidence to apply processes when required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
