Zest Education is delighted to be recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Burton upon Trent from September. This is a full-time teaching role within the school’s SEND provision, offering an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on pupils with additional needs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a full class of pupils from mixed year groups, delivering engaging and accessible lessons tailored to meet a range of learning needs. This is an ongoing position with the potential to become a permanent role for the right teacher.
About the Role
This role is based within the school’s specialist SEND provision, where pupils benefit from a nurturing environment, high levels of support, and a curriculum designed to help them achieve their individual goals.
As the class teacher, you will take full responsibility for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons while working closely with Teaching Assistants, the SENDCO, and wider school staff. The school is seeking a teacher who can provide structure, consistency, and inspiring learning experiences that enable every pupil to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons to pupils within the SEND provision.
- Teach a class consisting of mixed primary age groups.
- Adapt learning activities to meet a wide range of needs and abilities.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Assess progress and use outcomes to inform future planning.
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and support staff.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- Promote pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Have experience teaching in a primary school setting.
- Have a strong understanding of SEND and inclusive teaching practices.
- Be confident differentiating lessons for pupils with a range of additional needs.
- Be patient, adaptable, and committed to helping every child achieve their potential.
- Have excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Thrive as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
