Job Description

Zest Education is looking for a dynamic and passionate Teacher to join our team at a special educational needs school located in Lichfield.

As a full-time teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for students aged 2-19. Your role will involve developing engaging lesson plans and resources tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring their academic and personal growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Establishing a positive teacher-student relationship: Building trust and rapport with your students will be crucial in fostering their confidence and overall well-being. Your caring and supportive approach will help create a safe space where students can thrive academically and emotionally.
  2. Managing classroom behaviour: With your ability to control the classroom and guide students’ behaviour, you will create an environment conducive to learning. Your expertise in implementing effective behaviour management strategies will be essential in supporting students with varying levels of social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.
  3. Lesson planning and resource development: While lessons will often be pre-planned, having the capability to tailor activities and resources to suit individual student needs is highly desirable. Your creativity and adaptability will play a pivotal role in engaging students and making learning enjoyable and accessible to all.
  4. Collaborating with the leadership team: You will receive outstanding support from the school’s leadership team to ensure your professional development and success within the role. Collaborating with colleagues, sharing insights, and contributing to the school’s inclusive educational practices will be encouraged.

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience or a genuine interest in working with students with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs

 

This is a long-term role starting in January 2025 and continuing for the remainder of the academic year.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
