Are you currently looking for a rewarding job opportunity to support young people with special educational needs? Zest is currently recruiting for a part-time SEND Teaching Assistant on behalf of a school in South Leicester. The ideal individual will be able to work Thursday and Friday each week.

The school caters for students between the ages of 4yo-19yo with range of needs including autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will have experience in a similar setting previously and demonstrate a positive attitude to supporting the listed needs.


Responsibilities of the SEND Teaching Assistant include:

  • Assisting the teacher to provide tailored lesson plans
  • Encouraging pupil participation in class discussions and activities
  • Supporting students to develop their social and emotional skills
  • Recording and relaying student progress to the class teacher


Requirements of the SEND Teaching Assistant include:

  • Passionate for supporting students with special educational needs
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers and other professionals for the benefit of the students
  • Showing patience when supporting the students needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
