      About the Role

At Zest Education we are currently seeking a compassionate, proactive, and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive school based in the Tamworth area. In this role, you will provide specialized support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) based in a year 2 class, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential. Additionally this role is to start as soon as possible with both part-time and full-time opportunities available with the school.

This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and looking to develop a rewarding career within the SEND sector.

       Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one‑to‑one and small group support for pupils with a range of SEND needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Adapt resources and activities to meet individual pupil needs and support the class teacher in preparing class activities/workshops.
  • Support the implementation of EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plans) targets.
  • Promote emotional well‑being, resilience, and independence.
  • Nurture social skills, boosting confidence, and helping pupils manage their emotions and mental healthRequirements:
  • Experience in supporting children with SEND (desirable but not essential).
  • A patient, empathetic, and child‑centered approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A willingness to learn and develop within the role.
  • Good behavior management skills.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
