SEND Teaching Assistant – SEN Schools Across Staffordshire

Full‑Time or Part-Time | Teaching Assistant | SEN Provisions Only

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs? Do you thrive in a setting where every day brings the chance to make a real difference? We are seeking dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to work within SEN schools across the Staffordshire area.

This role is ideal for individuals with patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to helping pupils with additional needs reach their full potential.

About the Role:

As a SEND Teaching Assistant in an SEN school, you will play a key role in supporting children with a wide range of needs, including autism, social and communication difficulties, complex learning needs, sensory needs, and physical disabilities.

You will be working within specialist settings designed to provide tailored educational support for pupils aged 4–19.

⭐ Your role will include:

  • Providing 1:1 or small‑group support within SEN classrooms
  • Assisting with personalised learning plans and EHCP targets
  • Supporting pupils with sensory, communication, or behavioral needs
  • Implementing strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behavior
  • Using specialist equipment and communication tools where required
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists
  • Helping create a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment

⭐ What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND (preferred)
  • A caring, calm, and supportive attitude
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to adapt to different SEN settings and age groups
  • Passion for helping pupils overcome challenges and succeed
  • Willingness to complete relevant training

Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualifications are beneficial but not essential.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
