Job Description

Zest Education is recruiting a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a warm and supportive primary school in Tamworth. This full‑time role begins in September and involves providing 1:1 support for a KS2 child with ADHD and autism, helping them to feel secure, understood and able to thrive in the classroom.

The school has a nurturing, inclusive ethos and a staff team who work collaboratively to ensure every child receives the support they need. They are looking for someone patient, proactive and genuinely passionate about SEND.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a child with ADHD and autism
  • Help the pupil regulate emotions, stay focused and engage positively in lessons
  • Use personalised strategies to support communication, routine and transitions
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to follow tailored support plans
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
  • Support learning across core subjects in a calm, structured way
  • Build a trusting, consistent relationship with the child

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
