Zest are recruiting exclusively for a SEND school in Walsall for a full time Support Worker to join their team. This position is due to begin ASAP and will continue on a long term basis. There is potential of becoming a permanent position is the right candidate is found.

You must be able to work the hours Monday to Friday 8:30 to 15:30.

This is a vibrant community special school which provides education for children and young people from the age of 11-19 with Autism (ASC). Although this position is to work in a school environment, we are open to receiving applications from TA’s, support workers and individuals that have worked with adults with SEND.

This role could be based in any class and any key stage working with pupils who have persistent differences with social interaction, social communication and understanding emotions so it is important that you can engage with different learning needs.

 

The role:

  • We are looking for staff who are good role models and have experience of working directly with children or young people with SEND
  • You must be engaging, reliable and able to quickly build professional relationships
  • You will be supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • You will be supporting the class teacher within the classroom – preparing learning resources, setting up the classroom and keeping it to a high standard

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
