Support Worker

Job Description

We are currently looking for enthusiastic teaching assistants for an all through special educational needs school in Kings Norton. This is an outstanding school that caters for students with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties. The students within this environment have communication difficulties or find it challenging to be in large groups. We are ideally looking for someone that has a good understanding of de-escalation techniques or has a form of restraint training. You will be supported by an experienced team that are dedicated to ensuring that the children have the best learning environment.

This role is due to start as soon possible and will continue until July, the following year. This school is well located with a very friendly and supportive team of staff. This school ensures that every class has a small number of children to provide a personalised learning experience. There are currently six teaching assistant positions within this environment, all of which are to work one to one and with a variety of ages.

The Role:

· You will need to have strong communication skills and have experience with SEND.

· You will ideally be trained in Team Teach or MAPA, although this is not a necessity as the school can provide this training.

· You will be working with very small class sizes, with a maximum of eight students within each class.
