Teacher of Computing

Job Description

Zest Education are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Teacher of Computing to join a secondary school in the Nuneaton area. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality computing lessons to students across KS3 and KS4. This is a full-time position that requires excellent teaching skills, as well as the ability to effectively plan and mark student work. The role is due to commence in October 2024 and will run for a minimum of one term.

Responsibilities:

– Plan and deliver engaging and challenging computing lessons
– Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
– Develop and implement effective assessment strategies to track student progress
– Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their work
– Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive curriculum
– Keep up-to-date with new developments in the field of computing and integrate them into lessons
– Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions as required

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
– Degree in Computing or a related field
– Strong knowledge of computer science concepts and programming languages
– Experience teaching computing to secondary school students
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to effectively plan and mark student work

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
