Job Description

Zest Education are currently collaborating with a secondary school in the Cannock area that are seeking to hire a Design and Technology Teacher in a full-time position. The position is scheduled to commence in September 2024, and it will involve providing cover for an ongoing absence.

The school is specifically interested in finding a creative and passionate candidate who possesses a diverse range of teaching methods. Additionally, the ideal applicant should have the ability to effectively manage classroom behaviour and cultivate a positive learning environment. This role presents a wonderful opportunity for the chosen candidate to make a positive impact on the lives of young students through their creative work. The school is conveniently accessible from nearby areas such as Telford, Shrewsbury, and Market Drayton, and it also offers on-site parking facilities.

The successful applicant must have the following qualifications and attributes:
– Possession of a PGCE or an equivalent UK teaching qualification that has granted them Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
– A strong passion for the subject of Design & Technology, along with excellent subject knowledge across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4). Any knowledge and experience at Key Stage 5 (KS5), particularly in Product Design, would be advantageous.
– A team-oriented mindset and a desire to be part of a supportive team environment.
– The ability to plan, assess, and deliver high-quality lessons. However, for short-term or long-term placements, only planning and assessment duties would be required.
– Proficient classroom management skills and the ability to effectively handle student behaviour.
