Teacher of French

Job Description

Zest Education are currently seeking an experienced Teacher of French to join a secondary school in the Harborne area. This is a full-time position, ideal for someone passionate about teaching French to students across KS3 and KS4. The role is due to commence in September 2024 and will run for a minimum of two terms.

Responsibilities:

– Plan and deliver engaging and effective French lessons to students at KS3 and KS4.
– Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that cater to the needs of diverse learners.
– Assess and evaluate students’ progress and provide feedback on their performance.
– Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and promotes student participation.
– Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive French curriculum.
– Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions as required.
– Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievements, and behaviour.

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialism in French.
– Experience teaching French at KS3 and KS4 levels.
– Familiarity with the UK national curriculum and assessment frameworks.
– Strong knowledge of French language and culture.
– Highly organised, with good time management skills.
– Ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
– Skilled in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
– Ability to speak a second Modern Foreign Language (i.e. Spanish or German) is desirable.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
