Teacher of Sociology

Job Description

Zest Education are currently seeking a passionate Sociology Teacher to join a high-performing Secondary School in Redditch area. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Sociology to students across KS4 and KS5. This is a full-time position where planning and marking will be required. The role is due to commence in April 2025 and will run for a minimum of one term.

Responsibilities:

– Plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and guidelines.
– Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student growth and development.
– Assess student progress through regular assignments.
– Provide constructive feedback to students to support their learning and improvement.
– Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share resources and best practices.
– Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required.
– Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to update them on student progress.

Requirements:

– Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent qualification.
– Relevant degree in Sociology or a related discipline.
– A passion for teaching and a strong knowledge of Sociology.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
– Strong organisational and time management skills.
– Experience in planning and delivering effective lessons.
– Willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
