Job Description

 Position: Special Education Needs Teacher

 Start Date: January 2024

 Hours: 8:30-15:30 (long-term basis)

 

This school caters for students from the age of 5-18 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH).

As a special education needs teacher, your role will be crucial in creating a nurturing and supportive learning environment where students can thrive. We are looking for someone who can quickly build trust and rapport with learners who may find it challenging to connect with others.

 

 Key Responsibilities:

– Create a capable learning environment that meets the needs of each student and fosters positive interactions.

– Deliver high-quality teaching through effective planning and resource utilization.

– Develop personalized learning activities tailored to individual student needs and achievement levels.

– Plan, track, evaluate, assess, and report on student learning progress.

– Write and update Individual Outcomes to monitor student development.

– Supervise, train, and manage Teaching Assistants in their roles.

– Collaborate with parents, carers, and external agencies as needed to support student growth.

 

Requirements:

– Hold a Qualified Teacher Status/Qualified Teacher Learning & Skills

– Previous experience working with students with special educational needs is preferred but not required.
