Class Teacher – Strong Behaviour Management

Full‑time • Immediate/September Start • Birmingham

Our primary school is seeking a confident, resilient and highly skilled Class Teacher with exceptional behaviour management to join our team. We are a warm, committed school, but we face significant behaviour challenges, and we need a teacher who can bring consistency, structure and calm authority to the classroom.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a setting where clear expectations, strong routines and proactive behaviour strategies are essential to pupil success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading a structured classroom with clear routines and boundaries
  • Implementing behaviour systems consistently across the day
  • Using de‑escalation, low‑arousal communication and restorative approaches
  • Creating a calm, purposeful learning environment even during challenging moments
  • Building strong relationships with pupils who need stability and predictable responses
  • Working closely with the SENCO and behaviour lead to follow plans and interventions
  • Delivering engaging lessons that support focus, regulation and progress

What We’re Looking For

  • A qualified teacher with proven behaviour management experience
  • Someone calm, confident and able to take control of a room
  • Strong understanding of SEMH, trauma‑informed practice and regulation strategies
  • A teacher who can hold boundaries with warmth and consistency
  • Excellent communication and teamwork
  • A reflective, solution‑focused mindset
