Teaching Assistant

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a supportive Teaching Assistant to start immediately. This Teaching Assistant position will involve working with young people who require specialist educational support within an Alternative Provision setting. The successful Teaching Assistant will help create an inclusive, positive learning environment where students can thrive both academically and personally.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students who may have social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and barriers to learning.
  • Help implement individual learning and behaviour support plans.
  • Adapt resources and classroom activities to meet students’ needs.
  • Build positive relationships that encourage engagement and confidence.
  • Support students in developing social, emotional and life skills.
  • Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a safe learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for students.

This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people to re-engage with education and reach their full potential.

What You’ll Need

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people, ideally within education, SEND, SEMH or alternative provision settings.
  • A positive attitude and resilient approach.
  • Strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills.
  • A team-focused mindset with the ability to work independently when required.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people overcome challenges and succeed as a Teaching Assistant.
