Teaching Assistant

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a supportive Teaching Assistant to start immediately. This Teaching Assistant position will involve working with children and young people aged 4 to 19 who have a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), speech, language and communication needs, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Down Syndrome, and more complex medical needs. Many pupils require personalised support to develop communication, independence, emotional wellbeing, and functional life skills.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, communication needs, and additional SEND requirements. 
• Help implement individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and personalised learning programmes.
• Adapt classroom activities and resources to meet a wide range of abilities and learning styles.
• Support pupils in developing communication, social skills, emotional regulation, and positive relationships.
• Encourage independence and life skills that prepare pupils for future education, employment, and adulthood. 
• Build positive, trusting relationships that help pupils feel safe, valued, and confident in their learning.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, families, and external professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for pupils.

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND, autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, or complex needs.
