Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Are you looking for a change in career? Zest Education is currently recruiting for a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant position at a wonderful school in Redditch. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and inclusive educational environment.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will have the chance to work with a diverse range of students, supporting them in their academic and personal development. Your role will involve assisting the classroom teacher in delivering tailored lessons, providing one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, and promoting a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with the classroom teacher to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
– Provide support and assistance to students with learning difficulties, ensuring their progress and engagement in class activities.
– Use effective communication and behavior management strategies to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.
– Monitor and record student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing appropriate strategies to address individual needs.
– Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive and collaborative learning community.

Requirements:
– Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, preferably with experience in supporting students with special educational needs.
– A genuine passion for working with children and making a difference in their lives.
– Knowledge of various learning needs and strategies for supporting students with special educational needs.
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
– Flexibility and adaptability to work with students of different ages and needs.
– A proactive and positive attitude, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
