KS1 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Full Time | Solihull | Immediate Start
Recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive primary school in Solihull
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full-time, term time only
Start Date: As soon as possible
Zest Education is working in partnership with a warm and nurturing primary school in the Solihull area to recruit a skilled and compassionate Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant for a full-time 1:1 support role.

Staff work collaboratively to provide a safe and structured environment where every child can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.
About the Role:
This position is to work on a 1:1 basis with a child in Key Stage 1 who has Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and has also been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the child’s emotional regulation, focus, and engagement in the classroom, while helping them build the confidence and strategies they need to succeed in their learning journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored 1:1 support in line with the child’s EHCP and individual targets.
Assist in developing and maintaining positive routines and behavioural strategies.
Support the child in building social and emotional skills and resilience.
Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals.
Provide regular feedback to the team.
Create a calm, consistent, and encouraging learning environment.
Requirements:
NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Supporting Teaching and Learning – essential.
Experience working with children with SEMH and/or ASD.
A caring, patient and consistent approach to behaviour and emotional needs.
Ability to build trust and strong relationships with children and staff.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
