Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work in a special educational needs (SEND) school located in Telford. With excellent train, bus and motorway links, the school is in a great location. This exciting role is due to begin immediately, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

As a Teaching Assistant in this large school, you will have the opportunity to work closely with small class sizes, focusing on pupils and young people aged 5-19. These individuals have a range of complex needs associated with autism and learning disabilities, including communication, sensory, and behavioural challenges. Your role will be critical in identifying and engaging with these diverse learning needs.

This career in education is truly rewarding, as you will have a real impact on the lives of students. You will provide personalised support to each learner, helping them improve their skills and achieve their educational targets. With a curriculum tailored to each student’s aspirations, needs, and abilities, you may be required to support students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. Your engagement, reliability, and ability to quickly build professional relationships will be essential in creating a nurturing learning environment.

To be successful in this role, you should be confident, enthusiastic, and genuinely passionate about enabling students to reach their full potential. Experience working with individuals with complex needs is highly desirable, as is a patient and empathetic approach. Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to suit different learning styles are also key attributes we are seeking in applicants for this position.
