Teaching Assistant

Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join a special educational needs school located in Cannock as a full-time Teaching Assistant. This is a long-term position that is available to start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Work from Monday to Friday, from 8:30-15:30.
  • Provide support to children and young people between the ages of 4 and 18 with Autism.
  • Assist individual students who may exhibit challenging behaviour, ensuring their access to the curriculum.
  • Help students focus their attention and stay on task.

 

 Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a care setting is also advantageous.
  • A person-centred approach that places the voice of the young person at the centre of all activities.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
