Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a primary special educational needs school in Telford, starting ASAP. The school caters for students aged 5-11 with Autism (ASC) and associated learning needs, providing a nurturing environment for their growth and development.

As a Teaching Assistant at this school, you will play a crucial role in supporting students both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis, ensuring they receive the individualised attention they require. Working under the guidance of the class teacher, you will assist in preparing learning resources, setting up the classroom, and maintaining a high standard of classroom environment conducive to learning.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should have relevant qualifications or experience working with individuals with special educational needs. Your ability to adapt to the varying needs of students across different age groups, coupled with strong behaviour management skills, will be essential in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Candidates must also be able to provide references covering the last 2 years in full and possess a valid DBS check on the update service, or be willing to undergo the necessary checks. Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
