Level 3 Teaching Assistant – 1:1 SEND Support (ASD)

Location: Kings Heath, Birmingham
Start Date: January 2026
Hours: Part-Time, Mornings Only (until 1:15pm), Monday to Friday
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference? Zest Education is excited to be working with a welcoming junior school in the Kings Heath area to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a 1:1 support role with a child in Year 4 who has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).


About the Role

This is a mornings-only position, perfect for someone seeking consistent hours while having a meaningful impact. You’ll work closely with the class teacher to provide structure, reassurance, and tailored support to help the child stay engaged and manage behaviour throughout the morning.

The pupil responds best to calm, consistent adults who can build trust and offer a firm but nurturing approach. Your ability to create a positive, supportive environment will be key to their success.


What We’re Looking For

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
  • Experience working with children with ASD or additional needs
  • A calm, patient, and resilient nature
  • Commitment to the full duration of the role
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and external professionals
