Role Overview
We are seeking Teaching Assistants to support pupils aged 11–16 on our secondary site in Oldbury. In this role, you will work closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff to support pupils with SEMH needs both in the classroom and through additional interventions.
You may be working 1:1 or with small groups, helping pupils access learning, manage their emotions and behaviour, and make positive progress both socially and academically.
Key Responsibilities
• Support secondary-aged pupils with SEMH and additional needs in academic and social/emotional development
• Assist with differentiated lesson delivery, tailored resources, and small-group interventions
• Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policy
• Help pupils develop emotional regulation and social interaction skills
• Provide in-class support or work with individuals outside of lessons as needed
• Contribute to planning, record keeping and reviews for pupils with EHCPs
• Foster positive relationships with students to build trust, motivation and engagement
• Liaise with teachers, therapists and families to support a consistent approach

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
