Teaching Assistant

Job Description

The school caters to students aged 5-18 with autism, speech and language disorders, moderate to severe learning difficulties, and associated behavioural challenges. We are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

 Role Overview:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work 1:1 with pupils in the school, either in small classroom settings or individual spaces, under the guidance of class teachers and other teaching assistants. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with experience working with individuals with special educational needs, preferably in a school or care/support work background.

 Key Responsibilities:

– Collaborate effectively within a team to support the diverse needs of students

– Demonstrate resilience when facing challenges and provide emotional support to children

– Understand and address the social and emotional needs of students

– Track children’s progress and contribute to their holistic development

– Commit to continuous training and professional development opportunities

 Qualifications and Skills:

– Experience working with individuals with SEND is essential

– Ability to work independently and use initiative effectively

– Confidence in managing emotional or behavioural difficulties

– Professionalism, dedication, and a positive attitude towards learning and development
