We are proud to be working with a nurturing and inclusive primary school in Kings Heath to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work full-time in their on-site Resource Base, supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs.
This is a highly rewarding role for someone who is passionate about helping children with special educational needs to flourish both socially and academically.
About the Role:
The Resource Base provides specialist support to pupils with diverse and complex needs. The successful candidate will work closely with a small group of children whose needs include:
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Down’s Syndrome
ADHD
Global Developmental Delay
Physical Disabilities
The Teaching Assistant will support learning through structured activities, one-to-one support, and small group interventions, while also helping with personal care and mobility where necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored support in line with each pupil’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
Support the development of communication, social skills, and independence
Assist with classroom activities, sensory strategies, and behaviour support
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
Promote inclusion, emotional wellbeing, and consistent routines
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold a recognised NVQ Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
Have experience working with children with a range of SEND
Be confident using strategies to support communication, sensory needs, and positive behaviour
Be calm, caring, and committed to making a positive impact
Be able to commit to the full academic year

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
