Zest Education is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a wonderful school in Old Oscott. This is a full-time position, starting in February, and will involve working with students between the ages of 4 and 11 who have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with ASC and ensuring they have a positive and inclusive school experience. Your main responsibilities will include providing one-on-one support to students, helping them with their academic and social development, and implementing individualized learning plans.
Working within a great team atmosphere, you will collaborate closely with teachers, other teaching assistants, and external professionals to create a nurturing and supportive environment for all students. Your passion for helping students with social, emotional, and mental health needs will be highly valued in this role.
The ideal candidate for this position will have previous experience working with students who have ASC, along with a good understanding of their specific needs and challenges. You should be patient, empathetic, and possess excellent communication skills. A relevant qualification in education or special educational needs will be advantageous.

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
