Teaching assistant – SEND

Job Description

Do you have experience working with individuals who have SEND? Are you looking to kick-start your career in education? If so, Zest may have the perfect role for you.

Zest Education is currently looking for a compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a lovely SEND secondary school in Coventry, working both 1:1 and in small groups with students. This full-time role is set to begin as soon as possible for the right candidate and will be ongoing until at least the end of the academic year to cover maternity leave.

This school caters to students with complex communication and interaction difficulties with many of its young people also having a diagnosis of autism. Its aim is to create a supportive learning environment where every student can reach their full academic and personal potential.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Will have experience working alongside individuals with autism and communication difficulties.
  • Will have a calm approach and be confident in their behavior management skills.
  • Will be a quick learner and is able to adapt between various ages and abilities.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
