Teaching Assistant, Stoke-on-Trent.

Zest Education are working closely with a lovely SEND in Stoke-on-Trent who require a Teaching Assistant to start October 2022 and will continue into the new academic year.

This role is part time, only Monday to Wednesday working on a 1:1 basis with a eight-year-old student. You will be supporting with the understanding of day-to-day tasks. We are looking for someone that has previously worked with autism or has personal experience of supporting individuals with SEND. You must be passionate about working with students with special educational needs and have previous experience of working in a SEN school or similar environment.

This school caters for students from the age of five to thirteen with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH).  The team here work hard to maintain a supportive and inclusive ethos across all areas of the school and put the children at the heart of what they do. Each class has a maximum of nine students and on some occasions, you may be required to work with children in small groups as well as 1:1. The role will require you to quickly build engaging relationships with the children, and you will need to work closely as a team with the class teacher and other teaching assistants.

The role:

  • You must have previous experience working with individuals who have special educational needs or in a similar setting
  • You will be joining a large staff team that provide a personalised learning experience for all students within the school
  • This school caters for a variety of ages, so you must be adaptable to meet each individuals needs
