Teaching Assistant, Walsall.

Zest Education is proud to be working alongside a special educational needs school based in Walsall that requires a full-time Teaching assistant. The role is for an immediate start and the candidate must be able to work the hours Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 15:30. There is a possibility that the role could become permanent if the right candidate is found.

This school caters for children from the age of seven to eighteen with moderate learning difficulties, however majority of our pupils have additional needs, including autism, speech, language and communication difficulties and some behavioural issues.

The school ensures that each class does not exceed nine students and maintains a high level of staff. It is important to this school that every student always has outstanding support and receives a personalised learning experience.

The successful candidate will need to be committed to their role and go above and beyond to maintain and improve their department. You will be required to work alongside the class teacher and teaching assistant to support the students with their daily routines.

The role:

  • Due to the needs of the learners, you must have previous experience working with special educational needs or in a care setting
  • Promote and encourage independence and personal development in pupils and maintain high expectations of behaviour at all times
  • You will be confident, enthusiastic and be able to identify and engage with different learning needs.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
