Zest Education is recruiting a compassionate and confident Year 1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 class at a welcoming primary school in Northfield on a part time basis. This rewarding role involves providing tailored assistance to a child with behavioural needs and offering personal care where required.

About the Role

In this position, you will:

  • Work closely with a child in Year 1 who requires consistent behavioural support and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Provide personal care in a respectful, safe and supportive manner.
  • Help create a calm, structured environment that enables the pupil to feel secure and ready to learn.
  • Support the class teacher with daily routines, transitions and positive behaviour approaches.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and engagement through patience, reassurance and positive reinforcement.

We are seeking someone who is:

  • Experienced in supporting young children with behavioural challenges or additional needs.
  • Caring, resilient and adaptable in fast‑paced classroom situations.
  • Able to use clear boundaries, consistency and nurturing strategies to support behaviour.
  • Comfortable providing personal care in line with safeguarding expectations.
  • A strong communicator, able to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Passionate about making a meaningful difference to a child’s daily school experience.
