Year 4 Teacher

Job Description

Zest Education is currently recruiting for an experienced and confident Year 4 Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Burton upon Trent. This is a part-time role, working 2 days per week, and is available to start as soon as possible. This will be every Thursday and Friday.

This opportunity would suit a strong classroom practitioner who can quickly establish routines, build positive relationships, and maintain high expectations for both behaviour and learning.

About the Role

As the Year 4 Teacher, you will teach a Key Stage 2 class for two days each week. Importantly, all planning has already been completed, allowing you to focus entirely on delivering engaging lessons, supporting pupil progress, and marking work in line with school expectations.

The class requires a teacher who can provide a consistent and confident presence. The school is therefore looking for someone with previous Year 4 experience who can build rapport with pupils and create a positive learning environment from the outset.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a teacher seeking a better work-life balance while continuing to make a meaningful impact in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons to a Year 4 class.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour.
  • Create a positive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Mark pupils’ work and provide feedback where required.
  • Support pupils to remain focused and achieve their potential.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Follow school policies and procedures.
  • Ensure continuity of learning across your teaching days.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have previous experience teaching Year 4.
  • Be a confident and resilient classroom practitioner.
  • Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills.
  • Be able to quickly build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Deliver engaging lessons from pre-prepared planning.
  • Be organised, reliable, and professional.
  • Work effectively as part of a wider school team.

Why Work With Zest Education?

  • Competitive rates of pay.
  • Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement.
  • Access to a variety of local teaching opportunities.
  • Ongoing CPD and professional development.
  • Opportunities for long-term and permanent roles.
  • Straightforward and supportive registration process.
