Year 5 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in students’ lives? Do you have a knack for providing personalized support to students?

We have an exciting opportunity for a 1:1 teaching assistant at a ‘good’ rated school in the heart of Stourbridge. This position is available for 3 days a week and is open for an immediate start. The initial contract will run until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of extension based on the student’s progress and funding availability.

As a 1:1 teaching assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating a supportive learning environment for students. Working closely with the teaching staff, you will provide individualised instructional support to a specific student, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Your responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting the student with their academic tasks, ensuring they grasp the concepts and complete assignments effectively.
2. Assisting the student in developing key skills, such as reading, writing, and numeracy, tailored to their individual needs.
3. Collaborating with the teacher to adapt lesson plans and learning materials to suit the student’s learning style and abilities.
4. Monitoring the student’s progress and providing regular feedback to the teacher and parents/guardians.
5. Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.

To excel in this role, you should have excellent communication skills, a patient demeanour, and the ability to build rapport with students. Prior experience in a similar role or working with individuals with specific learning needs would be beneficial.

The school prides itself on having a dynamic and supportive team of staff who are dedicated to providing the best possible educational experience for their students. By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with experienced educators and contribute to a nurturing and stimulating learning environment.

If you are passionate about making a positive impact on students’ lives and possess the necessary skills and qualifications, we would love to hear from you. Apply now to become a valued member of our team and help shape the educational journey of our students.
