Year 5 Teacher

Job Description

We are dedicated to creating an inspiring, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every pupil is empowered to achieve their full potential. Located in Solihull, our school prides itself on a supportive team culture, enthusiastic learners, and strong community partnerships.

The Role

We are seeking an energetic, dedicated, and ambitious Year 5 Teacher to join our Key Stage 2 team. As children enter upper KS2, Year 5 is a crucial year for building independence, critical thinking, and confidence. You will create a rich, engaging curriculum experience that prepares pupils for their final primary year and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality, differentiated lessons that challenge and inspire Year 5 pupils.

  • Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment conducive to learning and pupil well-being.

  • Track and monitor pupil progress, using formative and summative assessment to inform planning and targeted support.

  • Foster high standards of behavior, respect, and academic effort across the year group.

  • Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants, subject leaders, and the wider KS2 team.

  • Build positive, open relationships with parents, carers, and the broader school community.

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply).

  • Proven experience or strong knowledge of teaching upper Key Stage 2 / Year 5 curriculum requirements.

  • Passion for creative teaching methods that engage 9- and 10-year-old learners.

  • High expectations for academic achievement, pupil growth, and behavior management.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and team-working skills.

What We Offer

  • Enthusiastic, polite, and motivated children who love to learn.

  • A supportive leadership team committed to your career development and continuous professional growth (CPD).

  • A collaborative, friendly staff team with well-resourced classrooms.
