Teaching Assistant – Sparkhill

Job Description

Zest Education is currently recruiting for a full-time teaching assistant position at a SEND school in Sparkhill starting immediately. This role requires working closely with students with complex needs, providing 1:1 and 2:1 support. Candidates must have previous experience in personal care or SEND settings.

As a teaching assistant, you will play a vital role in the education and development of these students. Your dedication and passion will make a real difference in their lives. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with children with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
– Provide 1:1 and 2:1 support to students with complex needs
– Assist in personal care tasks, ensuring the comfort and well-being of students
– Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment
– Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to implement individualized education plans
– Support students’ engagement and participation in classroom activities
– Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians
– Maintain accurate records of student behaviour and progress

Requirements:
– Previous experience working in personal care or SEND settings
– Good understanding of the needs and challenges faced by students with complex needs
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students
– Ability to work effectively as part of a team
– Flexibility and adaptability to meet the individual needs of students
– A positive and proactive attitude towards learning and professional development
