Job Description

Zest Education have an exciting opportunity for a part-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant who are passionate about working in key stage 1 to join a lovely school in Tamworth. This position is due to start as soon as possible and will run until the end of the academic year.

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with a specific student in a Year 1 class. Your primary responsibility will be to provide individualised support to the student, helping them develop their knowledge and skills across various subjects. You will collaborate with the class teacher to plan and implement tailored learning activities, ensuring that the student’s educational needs are met.

Key responsibilities include:
-Assisting the student with classwork and homework assignments, providing additional explanations and guidance as needed.
-Monitoring and tracking the student’s progress, identifying areas of improvement and implementing strategies to address any challenges.
-Promoting independent learning and fostering a positive learning environment for the student.
-Collaborating with the class teacher and other professionals to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure effective communication and coordination

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced teaching assistant who possesses the following qualities:
– Relevant qualifications and experience in supporting students with additional learning needs.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
– Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
– Ability to adapt teaching approaches and strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.
– Excellent organizational skills to effectively manage resources and maintain accurate records.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
