We have a fantastic opportunity for a full-time Classroom Support Assistant/Teaching Assistant to work in a special educational needs school located in Walsall. This role will start in September 2022 and continue on a long term basis into the new academic year. You will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 15:30.
This school caters for students from the age of eleven to nineteen with severe and profound complex learning difficulties. Due to the needs of the learners, the ideal candidate will have previous experience working with special educational needs or in a care setting.
The school itself is divide into three teaching departments: Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Sensory, Engagement and Therapeutic (SET)
and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC). This enables students to be grouped in classes based principally on learning need and therefore appropriate teaching approach, although account is taken of each student’s age, social and emotional need. You may be required to work across all three departments so it is important that you are a proactive and engaging individual who has proven experience of having strong behaviour management skills and working across a range of age groups.
