Learning Support Assistant

Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with complex communication needs, autism, and associated learning and emotional needs? Zest Education is currently seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a special educational needs school in Telford.

This is a full-time posistion due to begin ASAP.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting pupils who may exhibit challenging behaviours. You will need to demonstrate resilience and a genuine commitment to helping these students overcome their barriers to learning. As a Teaching Assistant, you will have direct contact with the students, ensuring they receive the best possible education.

This position is ideal for those who have a true passion for working with children, particularly those with learning difficulties. It also presents an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in teaching, as it allows you to gain invaluable first-hand experience.

The primary objective of this role is to assist our teachers in delivering academic excellence on a daily basis. Your professionalism and enthusiasm will contribute to creating a positive learning environment for our students. By providing support and guidance, you will help them reach their full potential.

 

 Key Responsibilities:

– Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the students’ individual needs.

– Support students in developing their communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.

– Assist with the implementation of behaviour management strategies.

– Provide one-on-one or small group support during classroom activities.

– Contribute to the overall care and well-being of the students.

– Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

 

Requirements:

– Relevant experience or qualifications in working with children with special educational needs.

– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

– Patience and empathy when working with students who may display challenging behaviours.

– Ability to adapt to different learning styles and cater to individual needs.

– Flexibility to work as part of a team and collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
