We are currently looking for a passionate teaching assistant for a special educational needs school located in Nuneaton. This school caters for children from the age of nine to nineteen with Autism (ASC) or an identified social, emotional or mental health need (SEMH). This position is due to start as soon as possible and will continue on a long term basis into the new academic year. You will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 15:30. Due to the needs of the learners, the ideal candidate will have previous experience working with special educational needs or within a care environment.
This school’s main aim is to deliver an ‘outstanding’ education using personalised programmes and by releasing student potential. The team here work hard to maintain a supportive and inclusive ethos across all areas of the school and put the children at the heart of what they do.
You must be able to work supportively as a team member and confidentially when working independently, within a range of settings. You may be required to work with the children 1:1 and in small groups, so it is important that you are adaptable to meet each individual child’s needs. You will be supporting the children with there day to day activities and all areas of the curriculum.
