Teaching Assistant – Saltley

Job Description

Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity to positively impact the lives of students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)? Zest Education is excited to announce a full-time position available at a reputable school in Saltley.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work with students aged between 4 and 11 who require additional support due to their PMLD. Your role will involve assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons, providing one-on-one support to students, and implementing specialized strategies to promote their learning and development.

We understand that working with students with PMLD requires a unique skill set. Therefore, we are seeking candidates who possess a deep understanding of the specific learning needs of these students. You should have experience in adapting and modifying teaching materials to suit individual student requirements, as well as the ability to effectively manage challenging behaviours.

To be considered for this role, you must hold relevant qualifications such as a Teaching Assistant qualification or an equivalent certification. Experience in working with students with PMLD is highly desirable. Additionally, a valid DBS check is mandatory for all our employees.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
