Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is working in close partnership with a special educational needs school located in Telford, who are looking to appoint a full-time Teaching Assistant.

The school are looking for a compassionate individual to support students aged 3-11 with Autism (ASC), social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH), and complex needs. With the position set to begin in March 2024, this is a long-term opportunity that will extend throughout the academic year.

To be successful in this role, you must have previous experience working with individuals with special educational needs. As a Teaching Assistant, your role will be pivotal in providing essential 1:1 or small group support to students with SEND. You will utilise your expertise to adapt teaching strategies and techniques to meet the unique needs of each student. Collaborating closely with teachers, you will contribute to the development and implementation of personalised education plans.

Building strong relationships with students will be a key aspect of your role. By fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment, you will help promote their self-confidence and engagement. Your dedication to their well-being and progress will make a real difference in their lives.

In order to be considered for this position, you should be able to provide a minimum of two references covering the past two years. At least one reference should specifically address your interaction with children or adults, showcasing your ability to connect and communicate effectively.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
