SEND Classroom Support Assistant

Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs? Zest is currently recruiting for a full-time SEND Classroom Support Assistant on behalf of a school East of the Coventry City Centre for the remainder of the Spring term.

This school caters for students between the ages of 11yo-19yo with a range of special educational needs including moderate, severe and profound and multiple learning difficulties (MLD, SLD, PMLD). The ideal SEND Classroom Support Assistant will ideally have experience in a similar role previously and be available to start immediately.

Responsibilities of the SEND Classroom Support Assistant role:

• Modifying and adapting learning materials to suit the individual needs and abilities of students with diverse learning difficulties
• Ensuring accessibility and inclusivity in the learning environment
• Providing physical support to students with mobility challenges, ensuring their safety and well-being
• Providing assistance with personal care needs, maintaining the dignity and respect of each student

Requirements of the SEND Classroom Support Assistant role:

• Previous experience working with students with MLD, SLD and PMLD is desirable
• Demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding toward students with varying learning difficulties
• A commitment to ensuring the happiness, well-being and safety of students
• A genuine passion for promoting inclusive education practices and creating an environment where every student can thrive

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
