A popular special educational needs school in Handsworth are recruiting for two full time Teaching Assistant’s to start in September 2022. This SEND school is well located, with excellent train and public transport links and has a strong reputation for maintaining an inclusive and supportive learning environment. The school caters for students from the age of six to fourteen with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). The ideal candidate must have previous experience working with special educational needs or in a care environment.
The team here work hard to maintain a supportive and inclusive ethos across all areas of the school and put the children at the heart of what they do. The successful candidates must be confident with working children individually and in small groups, supporting with all areas of the curriculum. You will be working alongside the teacher, preparing learning resources and help to keep disruption to a minimum by de-escalating any challenges you do face with your impressively calm, rational approach.
