SEND Teacher – Walsall

We are looking for an experienced and passionate SEND teacher to join a specialist academy catering to students aged 11–18 with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), and autism spectrum conditions (ASC). The successful candidate will be working within a highly nurturing and structured environment, supporting students with complex needs including communication difficulties, sensory processing challenges, and medical needs.

About the Role:

• Plan and deliver tailored, high-quality lessons for learners with a wide range of SEND
• Lead a class team, including support staff, to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
• Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching to individual strengths and needs
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
• Support personal care and safeguarding in line with students’ individual requirements

What We’re Looking For:

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
• Experience working with PMLD, SLD or ASC students, ideally in a specialist setting
• Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton, AAC)
• A collaborative, caring approach and high aspirations for all learners
• Ability to lead and support a team within the classroom
