Full-Time Teaching Assistant 
Start Date: 1st September 2025
Location: Balsall Heath, Birmingham
Contract: Full Academic Year
Working Hours: Full-Time
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Zest Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a large and thriving primary school in Balsall Heath for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their resource base provision from September 2025.

This is a full-time role that will run for the entire academic year, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, global developmental delay, physical disabilities, and personal care requirements. The role is both rewarding and varied, requiring a flexible and nurturing approach to meet the unique needs of each child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND

  • Assist with personal care and mobility where required

  • Create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment

  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver tailored support

  • Promote independence, emotional well-being, and social development

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold a minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in childcare or supporting teaching and learning

  • Have previous experience working in a similar environment supporting children with complex needs

  • Demonstrate patience, consistency, and empathy

  • Be confident, proactive, and able to use initiative in a busy school setting

  • Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
