We have an exciting opportunity for you to join a thriving SEND setting in Walsall, offering both full‑time and part‑time options, with a start date in October 2025.

About The School

  • A special school for pupils aged 7–16 with Education, Health and Care Plans, designated for moderate learning difficulties; most pupils also have needs such as autism, speech and language challenges, and behavioural needs.
  • Small-class teaching, with each class supported by both a teacher and teaching Assistant.
  • Recently rated “Good” by Ofsted (October 2023), including behaviour, education, leadership, and personal development.

The Role

  • Deliver an inclusive, stimulating curriculum tailored to pupils with moderate learning difficulties and additional needs.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and external professionals to adapt lessons and support student needs holistically.
  • Maintain a safe, calm, structured learning environment that nurtures emotional well-being and educational progress.
  • Promote independence, communication, and life‑skills, leveraging sensory‑aware and therapeutic strategies.

 

Who You Are

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in teaching pupils with SEND and handling challenging behaviours.
  • Confident in applying behaviour management and de-escalation strategies, particularly those aligned with Team Teach principles.
  • Skilled in creating inclusive, adaptable lesson plans and scaffolding learning for diverse needs.
  • Empathetic, patient, resilient and committed to fostering safe, positive learning environments.
  • Committed to safeguarding, professional development, and multi-disciplinary collaboration.
